The Supreme court ruling in the case of Mike Sonko is a huge win for Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.However, the ruling marks an affirmation and a sign of judicial independence in Kenya.

The Mombasa High Court recently ordered the IEBC to clear former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to run for the Mombasa Governorship,but the Supreme Court has dismissed his appeal against his impeachment as Nairobi Governor.
